This is a very interesting 缸体. I don't know enough about the Malawi slope to comment on the selection of 鱼类. A quick check on the geology of the lake suggests that the rocks these 鱼类 evolved with were probably not slate. — Roger Miller

This 缸体 is striking. Coming from my my planted 缸体 背景 this is very unique and eye-catching. It's obvious why some call African cichlids tanks "Freshwater reefs". But as attractive as the 缸体 is I think it doesn't capture the look and feel of an actual part of Lake Malawi. The bright white aragonite 砂 looks more like a salt water reef than an African lake. — Chuck Gadd
